How Air Pressure Creates Storms and Moves the Ocean
Air may feel invisible, but it has weight.Air is made of tiny particles pressing down on Earth. Air pressure is how hard that air is pushing down. High Pressure → More air pushing down. Low Pressure → Less air pushing down. Air always moves from crowded places to open places. That movement creates wind.
You will be able to answer:
- Why does low pressure lead to cloud formation?
- What is the difference between upwelling and downwelling?
- How can a long-lasting low-pressure system change ocean chemistry?
- How could unusual pressure patterns in 2025 have influenced sea lion habitats?
