Wind Is Moving Air — Like water, Air Is a Fluid too
Air is made of tiny pieces called molecules. Temperature effects the density of air: Density is how tightly packed molecules are in a substance. When air gets warm, the molecules move faster and spread out. The air becomes lighter or less dense. When air gets cold, the molecules slow down and move closer together. The air becomes heavier or more dense
You will be able to answer:
- Why does warm air create low pressure?
- What is upwelling and why is it important for ocean ecosystems?
- How can strong coastal winds change where nutrients appear in the ocean?
- How could stronger-than-normal winds in 2025 have influenced sea lion health?
